So I had a news dream last night. I was listening to Glenn Beck as I often do and he was talking about the NBA which has been in the news a lot lately. I heard him say something about Lebron James and I wanted to make a meme about it. It was like that prophetic feeling where you just have to get this word out of you because it is burning and swelling inside of you. But when I tried to make the meme I only had my phone and I couldn’t figure out how to do on the phone when normally I make them on a computer. At this point I was walking away from the court and down a hallway with many of the other players. Yao Ming was walking beside me down a hallway with something on the floor. It was like a mat to help cushion the floor but it was 2 inches thick. Yao Ming was complaining about how the cushion made the sealing too low for him and many of the other players. At the end of the hallway there was a lunch room or a break room and the coaches were trying to feed the players. Once the players ate we all started going back up the hallway towards the court.
As I feel my way through this dream I think that it means something like this. Lebron James is going to be at the center of a political controversy (as usual). But around this time there’s going to be some kind of issue that causes the players union to walk out. It may involve the salary cap, some kind of cushion and China may be involved in the process in one way or another. The coaches are going to be the solution. They will make sure that the players get what they need to get back to playing.
After that I dreamed about my wife and I walking down a park trail near a stream. We went through 3 different stopping places and with an older woman kind of guiding us along. At the last stopping place we needed to take the kid to the bathroom. But there was a problem, the bathroom only took quarters. So I counted out 2.50 in quarters and gave it to my wife just in case she needed that much.
Now the play on words was really interesting to me because 250(,000) is a quarter of a million and I was counting in quarters. This is also the price of a piece of land that our church is working to purchase along a park trail with a stream next to it. I gotta tell you I don’t have this kind of money, however, I know with God all things are possible. I feel like maybe He is going to put me in a place to give that money to the church as well as to my family. This will be after a process that the Lord guides us through and it will include 3 distinct parts. With His guidance we will get to the end of the process so that we can do what He has for us to do.
Ok now let’s jump into the Psalms and see what they have to say about Jesus! Let’s look at Psalms 49 because it has something very specific about Jesus in it.
“For he sees that even the wise die; the fool and the stupid alike must perish and leave their wealth to others. Their graves are their homes forever, their dwelling places to all generations, though they called lands by their own names. Man in his pomp will not remain; he is like the beasts that perish. This is the path of those who have foolish confidence; yet after them people approve of their boasts. Like sheep they are appointed for Sheol; death shall be their shepherd and the upright shall rule over them in the morning.” Ok so we see a clear tone here. People are going to die and go to Sheol. That’s the holding place of the dead under the earth if you don’t recognize the name. The person of Death is mentioned as the shepherd of that place. In the book of Revelation this person of Death is mentioned as the last enemy of God to be thrown into the lake of fire. So we see here the power of Death and Sheol or the grave or Hades is over the entire human race.
“Their form shall be consumed in Sheol, with no place to dwell. But God will ransom my soul from the power of Sheol, for he will receive me.” Now we see the gospel. God will ransom my soul. That is what Jesus did on the cross, He was God but He came as in the flesh to ransom the souls of His people. This is the gospel of Jesus Christ told far in advance.
We see in this Psalm that the world is full of evil men and they can trouble you in many ways. They seem to rule the earth but the strong die just like the weak. God is not mocked by evil men who oppress the earth and the righteous among people. He came so that even the dead could have life. Sheol is where Jesus went to take the keys away from the person of Death and the holding place of the dead. He has taken authority over death and gets to decide what happens to the souls of men now because of the cross. His enemy had set up death and sin as his kingdom. But God set up His own kingdom and the gospel of the Kingdom is the good news that Jesus has ransomed your soul if you are willing to turn to Him!
