Last night was a serious dreaming night. I woke up from several different dreams. But in the middle of all that I had one very strong vision. I wish I could explain the difference to those who don’t know it. In a vision something is actually happening and you are walking in the spiritual world. It’s different from a dream because it is very intense. You never forget them the way you forget a dream. Visions stick in you head for decades. I still remember some that I had in elementary school.
Anyway, the entire thing was me standing in front of my house and an old friend walked up with her son. She was talking to someone on the phone and could speak to me so she put a post-it note on my door. I couldn’t take the intensity of it and I flew awake. But I did figure out the meaning of it later on this morning and sharing it was actually part of the meaning.
In Hebrew my friends name means strong shield and her son that was with her, his name means bringer of light. So I went to the Bible and the first verse that came up was this one. Ephesians 6:16, “In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” Then I came across this one. Genesis 15:1, ” After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram, I am your sheild, your very great reward.”
Next we take a look at what the Bible has to say about light. John 8:12, “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” And then Genesis 1:3, “And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” And then in 1 John 1:5, “This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.”
The Bible has a lot more to say about shields and light but they both refer to God and walking with Him. We are living in dark times and we need to be like ancient Israel. When the cloud moves, we go with it, when the fire moves, we go with it. We cannot plan our own course and still eat the manna that He provides to get us through.
This vision was not an encouragement to start following God though, it was a gift in answer to my prayers. He has granted me growth in my faith, He has granted me protection under His wing, He has granted me power over the dark forces that have been attacking my life. That vision was God giving me a reward for walking with Him in my own personal dark times. He is granting me victory.
I had a vision a few years ago about my personal situation. In this vision I went in to the place and two people who were personally acting against me in witchcraft were sitting. They have been trying to harm my family and my life. Inside flaming arrows fell all around. But by the end they were both running away. The vision I had today, was an endpoint to that vision from years ago. The first one showed a process I would go through, and this one tells me that I now have a shield of faith strong enough to run them off.
The interesting thing about this is that I’ve only seen one sign in my life of what God is doing so far. I had a spot on the back of my head healed. It was a small thing but my wife wanted me to get it checked because it looked like a skin cancer. I asked God to fix it and it went away in a couple of days. It’s really cool when stuff like that happens! I’m very blessed.
But now I expect to see the people who have been fighting against me, to suddenly change something. I’d like that to mean they become Christians and stop destroying the world around them with their witchcraft. But in the dreams and visions I’ve had on the subject, it appears to mean that they will get away from us. The cool thing is that I don’t have to do anything but follow God. I don’t have to attack them back or play my cards right or do anything in this world. I just pray and keep my heart right and God does the miracle.
That’s a lot of info crammed into a short little vision but the truth is I could keep making connections out of that. Sometimes a small message is weaved into every part of life. This message of being granted a strong shield and the bringer of light together could be for others, it could be for you and your church and the government and who knows. I think it can apply to many people because of the ending. The last thing I saw my friend do was put a post-it note on my door. What does that mean? It means post it.
